Yiayia-isms

Yiayia (which means grandmother in Greek) came to the United States from Cephallonia, Greece in 1953.  Despite never again leaving the U.S. in the 55 years since, her knowledge of English has not made it past basic levels. 

She has one daughter and two granddaughters.  This blog is meant to document her interactions with her family, as a lasting tribute to her -- shall we say -- unique character.
